And wear shoes of carpet on my feet
Or gossamer butterfly wings on my shoulders
Pearls and rhinestones ‘round my neck
As I pull weeds

I could deck a crown
Of lilacs and nasturtiums
On a pit bull
For a stroll down the boulevard in my jeans
Trimmed in fur and beads

Why not be fanciful?
And hang a chandelier from my tree
With curtains of velvet and pillows of satin
Inviting all the genius loci for some tea

I’ll regale them all with tales
Or perhaps an oratorio
To prepare for our promenade through the lilies

Tulipifera, Salix fragilis, Acacia
Sprigs and stems and sticks and twigs
Dipped in green
